Please note, it's possbile that this may not work of you are not logged in as an administrator.
1. Open Terminal.
2. In Terminal, type the following code: defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DUDebugMenuEnabled 1 [Press Enter]

3. Open Disk Utility. In the Disk Utility menubar on top of the screen, there should now be a menu option called "Debug" which wasn't there before. Click Debug -> Show every partition.


4. In the menu on the left side of the screen, there should now be a disk called Recovery HD. Select this disk and click "Mount".


5. In Terminal, enter the following code: open /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/BaseSystem.dmg [Press Enter] The computer will now open "Mac OSX Base System". This is Recovery HD.
